I decided for my son's birthday this year to get creative and make my own homemade chocolate cake with raspberry frosting. I have NEVER baked anything in my life from scratch except chocolate chip cookies one time. Final verdict-moist and delicious

Ingredients

2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
1/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter
3/4 c of sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups unsweetened applesauce
1 cup chocolate chips

1 pk cream cheese
2 cups whipping cream
1/3 cup confectioner's sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
1-2 pkgs raspberries
