2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice, freshly squeezed
For the Bruschetta:
1 large French baguette, sliced into 1-inch thick slices
1-½ cups whole-milk ricotta cheese, preferably homemade
2 cups arugula, washed and spin-dried
3 pints fresh strawberries*, hulled and sliced into small cubes
1/3 cup pomegranate seeds (optional)
Maldon (or any other coarse) salt
