Ingredients
makes 1 loaf (about 6-8 servings)
For the dough:
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
3/4 cup 1% lowfat milk, warmed to a warm lukewarm
1 large egg yolk
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
2 1/4 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
olive oil to grease the bowl
For the filling:
1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/4 cup granulated sugar
3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
2 cups fresh berries (I used 1 cup blackberries, 1/2 cup raspberries, and 1/2 cup blueberries)
1 whole egg, beaten (for the egg wash)
powdered sugar (for sprinkling)
