American Chop Suey (or Goulash for non New Englanders)

This recipe is quick to come together and inexpensive to boot. A recipe from my childhood that hasn't lost it's luster as a comfort food into my adulthood.

1 T olive oil
1 onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 stalk celery, finely diced
1 green bell pepper, diced
4 oz mushrooms, chopped
1 lb ground turkey/beef
14.5 oz can stewed tomatoes (not drained)
3/4 tomato sauce (or leftover pizza sauce)
6 oz can tomato paste
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp freshly ground pepper
1 lb elbow macaroni, prepared to according to package
