FRESH BERRY COMPOTE, a whole-fruit marriage of syrup and jam, is quick and easy to make and a very versatile condiment. It can be made with fresh or frozen berries, and served over everything from waffles and pancakes to pound cake and ice cream. It’s also perfect on scones or biscuits, or mixed into a smoothie or a milkshake for a little something extra.
