1/2 cup flour
1/4 cup walnuts
1 tablespoon + 1/3 cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon kosher salt, plus a pinch
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
12 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Pear & Cranberry Compote:
2 tablespoons butter
1/3 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
1 medium (8 ounces) pear peeled, cored and cut into 1/4" dice
1 cup cranberries
1/3 cup sweet white wine, such as a late harvest Riesling or Gew├╝rztraminer
2 tablespoons diced candied ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
pinch of salt
