1. Thinly slice onions and slit green chilli.
2. Cook moong dal with turmeric powder until soft.
3. Pressure cook potato, peel the skin, mash it slightly and keep it ready.
4. Grind the ingredients given under 'for grinding' to a smooth paste.

Onion -1
Garlic -2 cloves
Green chilli -1
Ginger Garlic paste -1 tsp
Potato -1 medium size
Salt to taste
For grinding
Grated coconut - 3 tbsp
Fried Gram/pottu kadalai- 1 tbsp
Green chilli -2
Khus khus/ kasa kasa -1/2 tsp (optional)
Garlic -1 clove
For the seasoning
Oil -1 1/2 tbsp
Cinnamon -1 inch piece
Cloves -2
Fennel seeds/sombu -1/2 tsp
