Mutanjan is a Kashmiri dish made by cooking rice with nuts and sugar syrup.

Ingredients

300g banaspati rice
6-7 cardamom pods split open
4 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tbsp each natural food colour blue, green, red, yellow or coloured sugar
1/2 cup blanched almonds
1/2 cup raisins
1/4 cup thinly sliced coconut flakes
gulab jamun and edible silver leaf(optional) as needed
400g sugar
5 cups water
2 cinnamon sticks
